Cookie Policy
This website is deliberately light on tracking. It sets no third-party tracking cookies by default, and everything it does store is listed in full below.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to save on your device. It is sent back to the website on later visits, which is how a site can remember things about you.
Local storage and session storage do a similar job but work slightly differently. They also keep small pieces of information in your browser, but that information stays on your device and is only read by the page you are on — it is not automatically sent back and forth with every request. Local storage lasts until it is cleared. Session storage is wiped as soon as you close the browser tab.
UK law — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, read alongside the UK GDPR — treats all three the same way: we may use them without asking you where they are strictly necessary for a service you asked for, and we must ask your permission for anything else, such as analytics.
2. We set no third-party tracking cookies by default
When you arrive on this website, nothing about you is shared with an advertising network, a social media platform or a data broker. There are no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no embedded social widgets, no third-party web fonts and no hotlinked images. The site loads its own stylesheet and its own two small scripts, and that is all.
The only optional extra is Google Analytics 4, described in section 4, and it does not load unless you actively choose “Accept all”.
3. What this site actually stores
Here is the complete list of items this website may place in your browser, all of them strictly necessary:

None of these three items track you across other websites, and none of them build a profile of you. They exist to make this one site work properly.
The enquiry backup, cdl_leads, will contain the details you typed into the form — your name, phone number, email address, venue type, machine interests and any message. If you are using a shared or public computer and would rather that copy did not remain, clear the site data for this website when you have finished. How we handle the copy that reaches us is explained in our Privacy Policy.
4. Optional analytics
We would like to understand, in aggregate, which pages people find useful — whether visitors read the pool table page, for instance, or go straight to fruit machines. To do that we can enable Google Analytics 4.
Google Analytics 4 is only loaded after you choose “Accept all” on the cookie banner. Until you do, the script is not requested at all and Google receives nothing from your visit. If you choose to decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics run.
If you do accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies and identifiers in order to:
- count visits and distinguish one visitor’s session from another’s;
- record which pages were viewed, in what order, and for roughly how long;
- note the type of device, browser and approximate region you are visiting from;
- show us which pages lead to enquiries, so we know what is worth improving.
We use this only as anonymised, aggregated statistics. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, we do not link it to enquiry data, and we have no advertising features enabled. Google acts as our processor for this data and may process it outside the UK — see the international transfers section of our Privacy Policy.
5. How to change your choice
Your cookie choice is stored in cdl_consent in your browser’s local storage. To change it, clear your browser’s site data for this website — that removes the stored choice, and the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit so you can decide differently.
In most browsers you can do this from the padlock or icon to the left of the web address, where you will find an option such as “Cookies and site data” or “Site settings”, then “Delete data”. Alternatively, clearing browsing data for “cookies and other site data” in your browser settings will do the same.
Bear in mind that clearing site data also removes the cdl_leads backup of any enquiry you submitted. That is usually exactly what you want, and it has no effect on an enquiry that already reached us.
6. Managing cookies in your browser generally
You can control cookies and site storage for every website you visit, not just this one. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies only, clear storage when you close the browser, or browse in a private window that discards everything at the end of the session.
You will find these controls in:
- Google Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site settings.
- Microsoft Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari (Mac) — Safari menu, then Settings, then Privacy.
- Safari (iPhone or iPad) — the Settings app, then Apps, then Safari.
- Chrome on Android — the three-dot menu, then Settings, then Site settings.
Blocking all storage will stop this website from remembering your cookie choice, and the enquiry form will lose its local safety net — but the site will still work and you can always simply telephone us on 07539 528 070 instead.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add anything to this website that stores information in your browser, we will update the table above before that change goes live. We will revise the “last updated” date whenever this policy changes.
