Leisure does not supply the licence, but we will happily point you in the right direction so it is straightforward to sort out before we install. What we do cover is the servers and the games and music delivery behind the machine; our share of the takings pays for that infrastructure, so there is no platform bill coming your way.
Which venues suit a jukebox
Pubs are the classic fit, especially wet-led locals and community pubs where the regulars have opinions about the music and are glad to pay for them. Sports and social clubs do well because a jukebox fills the long gaps between fixtures and quiz nights. Restaurants and bar-diners use volume zoning and scheduling to keep a calm background during service and let the volume come up later in the evening. Do I still need a PPL PRS music licence?
Yes. Every UK venue playing music in public needs its own music licence, usually a joint PPL PRS licence, and that applies to any source of music — jukebox, radio or streaming service. It is a standard cost of running a venue and it stays with you rather than with us. Tell us where you are up to and we will point you in the right direction so it is in place before installation day.
Can staff control the volume when it gets out of hand?
Always. Volume zoning and scheduling let you cap the level by time of day and by area of the venue, so the restaurant side never gets drowned out and last orders do not turn into a rave. Staff keep full control of the room; customers only control the choice of track.
Wall-mounted or floor-standing — which should I choose?
It depends on your room. Wall-mounting saves floor space and works brilliantly in narrow bars and busy corridors of trade. A floor-standing unit gives more presence and suits larger rooms, function spaces and clubs where you want it to be an obvious feature. We will advise on the day we survey the venue, and there is no charge either way.
How quickly can it be installed, and what if it breaks?
